Julia
Breanetta Simpson hails
from a small town in North Carolina where she began performing
during her formative years. Her professional career began when
she was cast as Jenny in Syracuse Stages’ Production of
Death of A Salesman. Julia earned her BFA degree in Musical
Theatre at Syracuse University.
Julia has appeared at many venues in New
York City including New World Stages, Amas Repertory Theater and The
Triad. She has toured throughout the nation in productions of For Colored
Girls . . ., Ain’t Misbehavin',
One Mo' Time and Purlie. Julia originated the role of "Hennie"
in the World Premiere of WHEN THE NIGHTINGALE SINGS. In addition to
her work on Tour and at Regional Theatres, Julia's Stock and
Dinner Theatre productions have included roles in DREAMGIRLS and TINTYPES.
An advocate for Arts in Education, Julia has appeared at many schools,
senior centers and prisons around the country.
Julia is a member of Actors' Equity Association,
The Screen Actors' Guild and The American Federation of Television
and Radio Artists.
